Day 03 : Jaipur

In the afternoon, visit the "pink city" so-called because a great deal of the older part is built of pink-colored stone. Visit the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Wind ), a high and intricately carved wall behind which women of the court were sequestered while watching processions. Also see the Observatory and the City Palace, which houses an excellent collection of Rajasthani costumes, miniatures and an armory of Rajput weapons. Enjoy lunch at Local Rajasthani Restaurant and see the largest turban museum in Rajasthan. Enjoy dinner in the hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 04: Jaipur / Agra

This morning, you will prepare for onward journey by road to Agra ( 5.5 hours). En route stop at the walled city of Fatehpur Sikri, built by Akbar the Great to commemorate the birth of his son. Visit the red stone mosques, courtyards and the palace where Akbar once played chess using slave girls as pawns. Continue for Agra, arriving Agra around lunch time. Enjoy lunch in the hotel. Day 05 : Agra

Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World The Taj Mahal. The architectural splendor of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is a vivid reminder of the opulence of the legendary Moghul Empire, of which Agra was the capital in the 16th and early 17th centuries.

The 16th century Agra Fort, houses a number of exquisite buildings: the Moti Masjid (pearl mosque), Diwane-I-Aam (palace for general audience), Diwane-I-Khas (private palace), Anguri Bagh (wine yard), Sheesh Mahal (hall of mirrors), and the Musamman Bhurj (Jasmine Tower) where Shah Jahan died as a prisoner of his own son.

Taj Mahal, Agra TourismAfter the tour of the fort, you will be taken to visit the magnificent mausoleum, Taj Mahal, erected by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Begun in 1631, 20,000 workmen took 22 years to complete it a dream in white marble which lies in perfect proportion to the elegant garden of fountains. Enjoy lunch in the hotel. After lunch in the hotel, drive back to Delhi enrouting Sikandra Tomb.

Day 06 : New Delhi

This morning, your guide will take you on a combined tour of Old & New Delhi. The older part of the Capital takes you to the Red Fort with its Pearl Mosque and exquisite audience halls, Jama Masjid Mosque with its marble domes and slender minarets; Raj Ghat (where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated); the Ashoka Pillar, Akshardham Temple. Enjoy lunch at the local restaurant.

Than the modern area takes you on a drive along Rajpath, New Delhi's broadest avenue, and see the House of Parliament, the Diplomatic Enclave and the President's House the royal residence of the former viceroys and now of the President of India. Also visit the India Gate and drive through Connaught Place, the Qutub Minar built in the 12th century. Dinner in the hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 07 : Departure

Day 02 : Delhi

After breakfast, full Day city tour of Old & New Delhi. Tours to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India - Built by Shah Jahan. Tours to the Red Fort ( Lal Quilla ), Visit Humayun's Tomb : built in mid 16th century this is an early example of Mughal architecture also Visit Qutab Minar, witness the India Gate, President House and the Laxmi Narayan Temple (Birla Mandir).

Day 03 : Delhi - Jaipur

After breakfast drive to Jaipur . The city owes its names, foundation and its careful planning to the great warrior ( astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II. In 1727) with Mughal power on the wane, Jai Singh decided to move down from his hillside fortress at nearby Amber to a new site on the plains. He laid out the city, with its surrounding walls and six rectangular blocks, according to the principles of town planning set down in Shilpa Shastra, an ancient Hindu treatise on architecture. Arrive Jaipur and check in at hotel. After lunch, visit Hawa Mahal , Birla Temple etc. Rest of the Day free for individual activities.

Day 04 : Jaipur

Amber Fort, Jaipur HolidaysAfter breakfast, excursion to Amber Fort : At a distance of 11 kms from Jaipur, Amber was the ancient capital of Jaipur state. Construction of the fort began in 1592 by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput commander of Akbar's army and is a superb example of Rajput architecture. Visit the City Palace which has museum having an extensive collection of art, carpets, enamel ware and weapons; Jantar Mantar - the observatory built my Maharaja Jai Singh in 1728 and the façade of Hawa Mahal.

Day 05 : Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra

After breakfast, leave for Agra, enroute visiting the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital of the Mughals, which was abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal & other Palaces which are still preserved in its original glory. After lunch drive to Agra. Arrive Agra in the afternoon and check-in at hotel.

Day 06 : Agra

After breakfast, start the city tour of Agra. Visit Red fort, which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1565, and additions were made up until the time of his grandson, Shah Jahan. It contains the hall of public and private audiences amongst many other beautiful structues. Itmad-ud-daulah, which was contructed by Nur Jahan between 1622 and 1628 and is very similar to the tomb she constructed for her husband, Jahangir, near Lahore in Pakistan. The highlight of the Day - The Taj Mahal, which was constructed by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Contruction of the Taj began in 1631 and was not completed until 1653. Day 07 : Agra - Jhansi - Orchha - Khajuraho

After breakfast, proceed your journey to khajuraho , enroute visiting Orchha which is a medieval city founded by Bundela rulers with palaces & temples of the 16th & 17th century – which have remarkably withstood the onslaught of time. The city is picturesquely flanked by the river Betwa. Visit of the surrounding fortress & local Ram Raja temple. after lunch, continue drive to Khajuraho, upon arrival, check in at hotel & overnight stay.

Day 08 : Khajuraho

Khajuraho TourismAfter brekfast, visit Khajuraho, built by the warrior Chandela dynasty that rose to power in Central India between 10th & 11th centuries, the 25 odd surving temples display different facets of life, including the sensual. These erotic carvings on some panels have given rise to much speculation since Khajuraho’s re-discovery by a British officer in 1838. To preserve it for posterity, Khajuraho has been declared a World Heritage Site. Visit the eastern & western group of temples famous for their erotic scultpures. Day 09 : Khajuraho - Varanasi

Day 10 : Varanasi

Varanasi was formerly known as Kashi – the city that illuminates. The religious capital of Hinduism ,Varanasi is the oldest living city of India & one of the worlds’ most ancient. The present name is derived from the fact that the city is at the confluence of the rivers Varuna & Asi. After breakfast, excursion to Sarnath - the buried Buddhist city where Buddha preached his first sermon. After attaining enlightenment at Bodh Gaya the Buddha went to Sarnath, and it was here that he preached his first discourse in the deer park to set in motion the 'Wheel of the Dharma'. It is one of the most holy sites as in this place the stream of the Buddha's teaching first flowed. Sarnath was a renowned school of learning from 16th century BC to 12th century AD. Visit the ruins, the stupa, the Buddhist temple & the museum (closed on Friday). At the museum is the Ashok Pillar with its four guardian lions, used as independent Indias’ national emblem.Evening at leisure & overnight stay.

Day 11 : Varanasi

Varanasi Travel GuideEarly morning, leave for boat ride on the Ganges to see the bathing Ghats (river bank) & cremation site. Sunrise on the riverfront, as seen from a boat, can be a spiritually uplifting sight. Return to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, city tour of Varanasi - Visit the Bharat Mata temple with a big relief map of India in Marble, Durga temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Benaras Hindu University which has an art gallery & the mosque of Moghul Emperor Aurangzeb. Afternoon, excursion to Ramnagar. Return by boat in the evening, enroute witness the religious ceremonies along the banks of river Ganges.Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 12 : Varanasi - Delhi or Kathmandu (Flight)

Morning, free for individual activities. Afternoon, transfer to the airport to board flight scheduled to depart to Delhi or you can depart to Kathmandu for your onwards journey according to your choice.

Day 04 : AGRA/JAIPUR (230 kms/6 hrs. drive)

Early morning again visit Taj Mahal and stay there till sunrise. Return to hotel for breakfast. Later drive to Jaipur. Dep: Agra By Car En-route visit Fatehpur Sikri. Arr: Jaipur Direct transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free for individual activities. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 05 : JAIPUR

After breakfast Proceed for a morning excursion to Amber Fort. Elephant ride ascent to the fort.

AMBER FORT PALACE - Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort palace. Its construction was started by Man Singh I in 1592, and completed by his descendent Jai Singh I. Its forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds it's ultimate _expression.

CITY PALACE - A delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum.

JANTAR MANTARJantar Mantar, Jaipur Tourism - This is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. This observatory consisting of outsized astronomical instruments is still in use.

HAWA MAHAL - The ornamental facade of this "Palace of Winds" is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. Their five-storey structures of sandstone plastered pink encrusted with fine trelliswork and elaborate balconies. The palace has 953 niches and windows. Built in 1799 by Pratap Singh, the Mahal was a royal grandstand for the palace women. Evening at leisure and overnight stay at hotel. Day 5: Jaipur - Delhi After Breakfast visit the Markets for shopping and after Lunch proceed to Delhi. Check-in into the hotel at late evening and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 06 : JAIPUR - AJMER - PUSHKAR

Early morning after breakfast to proceed to AJMER by car 3 hours. Here you can visit the WORLD FAMOUS AJMER SHARIF, LAKE AND TARAGARH FORT, Evening check-in into the hotel at PUSHKAR ( 12 kms. ) Evening at leisure and overnight stay.

Day 07 : PUSHKAR - UDAIPUR

After breakfast visit the world famous only one BRAHAMA TEMPLE and Sacred Lake of Pushkar. After Proceed to Udaipur by Car. Arr: Udaipur and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 08 : UDAIPUR

Morning visit Amber Fort. Amber Fort was the ancient capital of the State. Visit the Sheesh Mahal or the Hall of Victory glittering with mirrors.

Afternoon tour of Jaipur. Jaipur - the capital of Rajasthan was given a colour coat of pink a century ago in honour of a visiting Prince and ever since, it has retained this colour. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh, the notable astronomer, this city is 260 years old. Visit Maharaja's City Palace, the Observatory & Ram Niwas Gardens. Day 5 : Jaipur - Agra (256 kms - 5/6 hrs)

Drive to Agra enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri enroute. Fatehpur Sikri is 40 kms from Agra and built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. Morning visit the world famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Day 8 : Kovalam

Day 9 : Kovalam - Kumarakom
